🌊 The Story of Urashima Taro / 浦島太郎のお話

 

🏞️ 1. A Kind Fisherman

EN: Once upon a time in Japan, there was a kind young fisherman named Urashima Taro. He lived in a small village by the sea. Every day, he went fishing and gave extra fish to hungry people. He loved the sea and all the animals in it. JP: むかしむかし、日本の小さな海辺の村に、浦島太郎という親切な青者の漁師がいました。毎日魚を釣っては、お腹を空かした人たちに分けてあげました。漁師の太郎は海も海の動物も大好きでした。

🪳 2. The Turtle in Trouble

EN: One day, Urashima Taro saw some children hurting a little turtle. "Stop! Don't hurt the turtle!" he said. He saved the turtle and gently placed it back into the sea. The turtle looked at him and swam away happily. JP: ある日、太郎は子どもたちが小さなカメをいじめているのを見ました。「やめなさい！カメをいじめないで！」と太郎は言いました。太郎はカメを助けて、そっと海に返しました。カメは太郎を見つめて、うれしそうに泳いでいきました。

🌊 3. A Magical Invitation

EN: The next day, the turtle came back. To Taro’s surprise, it spoke! "Thank you for saving me. I am a turtle from the Dragon Palace under the sea. Please come with me. The Princess wants to meet you." JP: 次の日、カメが戻ってきました。太郎がびっくりすると、カメが話しはじめました。「助けてくれてありがとう。私は海の竜宮城から来ました。お姫さまがあなたに会いたがっています。どうか一緒に来てください。」

⚓️ 4. To the Dragon Palace

EN: Taro climbed onto the turtle’s back. They went deep, deep into the sea. Soon, they arrived at the beautiful Dragon Palace. The walls were made of coral, and fish danced in the water. Princess Otohime welcomed him with a smile. JP: 太郎はカメの背中に乗って、海の奥深くへと進みました。やがて、美しい竜宮城に着きました。壁はサンゴでできていて、魚たちが踊っていました。おとひめ様がにこにこして迎えてくれました。

🎉 5. A Happy Time

EN: Taro spent many happy days in the palace. He ate delicious food and watched the sea animals dance. He laughed and smiled. But after a while, he missed his family and his village. JP: 浦島太郎は竜宮城で楽しい日々を過ごしました。おいしい食べ物を食べて、海の動物たちの踊りを見て、大笑いしました。でも、しばらくすると、家族や村が恋しくなりました。

📅 6. The Mysterious Box

EN: Taro told the Princess he wanted to go home. She said, "You may go, but please take this box. It's called a tamatebako. Never open it." Taro promised and took the box. JP: 太郎は「家に帰りたいです」とお姫さまに言いました。おとひめ様は、「わかりました。でも、この箱を持っていってください。玉手箱といいます。決して開けてはいけませんよ」と言いました。浦島太郎は約束して、その箱を受け取りました。

⏱️ 7. Everything Has Changed

EN: When Taro returned to his village, everything was different. His house was gone. The people were different. He asked about his family—but no one knew them. Many years had passed! JP: 浦島太郎が村に戻ると、すべてが変わっていました。自分の家もなく、人々も知らない人ばかりでした。「私の家族はどこですか？」と聞きましたが、誰も知りませんでした。何十年も経っていたのです！

🕳️ 8. The Box Opens

EN: Taro was so sad and confused. He forgot his promise and opened the box. Poof! A white smoke came out. Suddenly, Taro turned into an old man with white hair. The box held all the years he missed. JP: 浦島太郎はとても悲しく、混乱しました。そして、約束を忘れて玉手箱を開けてしまいました。ぽんっ！白いけむりが出てきて、太郎はたちまち白髪の老人になってしまいました。箱の中には、失われた年月が入っていたのです。

😔 9. The Lesson

EN: Urashima Taro sat by the sea, remembering the palace, the turtle, and Princess Otohime. He learned that time is precious, and promises are important. The sea whispered gently, as if to comfort him. JP: 浦島太郎は海のそばに座りながら、竜宮城やカメ、おとひめ様のことを思い出しました。彼は、時間はとても大切で、約束は守らなければならないことを学びました。海の波は、まるで彼をなぐさめるように、静かにささやいていました。

  🌸 The Story of Hanasaka Jiisan （花咲かじいさんの話） 🟩 1. A Kind Old Man and His Dog Once upon a time, in a small village in Japan, there lived a kind old man and his kind old wife. They were poor, but they were happy. They had no children, but they had a white dog named “Pochi”. They loved “Pochi” like their own child. むかしむかし、日本の小さな村に、優しいおじいさんとおばあさんが住んでいました。 ふたりは貧しかったけれど、幸せに暮らしていました。 子どもはいませんでしたが、白い犬のポチがいました。 ふたりはポチを子どものように大切にしていました。 🟩 2. The Dog Finds Treasure One day, “Pochi” barked and said, “Woof! Woof!” He ran to a spot under a tree and started digging. The old man followed him and dug the ground with a shovel.
